Our Heritage

Our Heritage

Amrapali’s roots are deeply
intertwined with the bustling gemstone hub of Jaipur in India. It was here in 1978 where two cousins, Rajiv Arora and Rajesh Ajmera, first dreamed up the concept of a vibrant jewellery brand that celebrated the traditional craftsmanship and artistry that has made Indian jewellery world renown for centuries.

The jewellery house’s bright Meenakari enamel work, uncut coloured gemstones and flattering rose-cut and polki diamonds – all hallmarks of traditional Eastern jewels – soon won them a dedicated following, not just in India but across the world. The designs, which took inspiration from art, culture and Indian heritage, were soon seen on red carpets in Hollywood and Bollywood alike.

Amrapali continues to be a tour de force in India, using its own manufacturing base in Jaipur, as well as a network of trusted specialist artisans across the country, to create jewellery that champions and preserves traditional craft. The family business, now led by Rajiv’s son Tarang Arora, has become one of the most celebrated and successful jewellery brands in India.

Amrapali London is an extension of this storied jewellery maison. With a focus on the house’s clientele in the West, it has distilled the colourful spirit and history of Amrapali to create contemporary luxury jewels with an Eastern DNA. Its exclusive collections are a celebration of the story and heritage of Indian jewels, bringing a twist of the colour, vibrancy and joy of Jaipur to modern designs.
